Atmolix shows METAR, TAF, airport details, and wind component information in one place. Use this page as a quick guide to the main parts of the app.

Search for an airport

Enter an airport code in the search bar. Suggestions appear while you type, so you can find an airport even when you do not know the exact code.

ICAO code: a 4-letter airport identifier, for example LBSF.
IATA code: a 3-letter airport or city code, for example SOF.

Weather overview

After an airport is loaded, the current weather panel shows the most important conditions first. The flight category is color coded for quick awareness. See the Flight Categories Guide for the meaning of each color.

StationThe selected airport, including its name and IATA code.

TemperatureDisplayed in the unit selected in settings. Raw METAR reports always provide temperature in Celsius.

WindDisplayed in your selected unit. Gusts above 40 kt are highlighted in red; lower gusts are highlighted in orange. When wind shear is reported, an attention notice will appear.

PressureQNH setting, shown in inHg or hPa depending on your settings.

CloudsCloud layers are decoded from the latest available weather data.

VisibilityShown in meters or statute miles, depending on the airport location and reported unit. Vertical visibility (VV) is added when it is reported.

Report timeAlways shown in UTC (Z). The time turns red when the report is more than 30 minutes old.

Sunrise / sunsetShown in the selected airport's local time.

Frequencies

ATC frequencies are displayed in a separate dialog as a simple list.

Use frequency data with care and verify it with an official source before operational use.

Windsock and runways

The windsock gives a visual indication of the observed wind. Runway information is based on the OurAirports database, so some runway data may be incomplete or outdated.

Wind componentsThe table calculates headwind or tailwind on the left and crosswind on the right for each runway.

Runway colorsThe preferred runway is shown in black. A runway that is not preferred for the current wind is shown in red.

Time and raw report

The right side of the airport page shows the airport's current local time, UTC time, and the difference between them. The raw METAR is also shown for pilots and users who want to read the original report.

Favorites

Add an airport to favorites by clicking the star icon above the airport name. Favorite airports appear in a separate panel on the right, together with their current flight category. Use the minus button to remove an airport from favorites.

Map Navigation

Our interactive map visualizes exactly where the chosen airport is located globally.

Suggested Alternatives

This function shows 4 airports around your selected airport. These airports are listed from the nearest and most suitable to the furthest. The displayed data is cross-checked with the latest available METAR and TAF reports.

Under no circumstances should the suggested alternatives be used for REAL FLIGHT PLANNING. You, as the PIC (Pilot in Command), must always cross-check all information using official aviation sources before making any flight planning decisions.

Terminal Aerodrome Forecast (TAF)

The TAF section is located directly below the map area. It provides detailed terminal weather forecasts for the selected airport, available in both raw METAR/TAF format and decoded, easy-to-understand presentation.

This section displays the latest METAR report in a readable format, including decoded weather conditions and essential operational information.

This section provides a simplified and readable interpretation of the TAF (Terminal Aerodrome Forecast), highlighting expected weather conditions and forecast trends for the selected airport.
